Dear friends of The Furniture Station,
As our followers will (sadly) all know, The Furniture Station will close its doors at the end of March after 23 years serving the local community.
A fond farewell – save the date!
We wanted to do something special to celebrate the fantastic work the charity has been able to carry out over the years thanks to our wonderful volunteers, staff and supporters. So on 28th March 2018 from 12.30-2.30pm we’ll be throwing a bit of a bash at Hazel Grove Baptist Church, The Furniture Station’s HQ with light refreshments and lots of familiar faces. If you have been part of The Furniture Station’s incredible journey or we’ve been able to help over the years, we’d love you to pop in and say hello!
We are incredibly proud of the service we have been able to provide since opening in 1994. Being able to support vulnerable local people has meant so much to us. Our volunteers have worked so hard and have been the heart behind all we’ve achieved and we will be eternally thankful.
Heartwarming response to closure
The response to our notice of closure has been just phenomenal – it’s wonderful to know what a difference we have been able to make to the lives of people in our community and that our charity was thought of so fondly.
Our warehouse has now closed and we are in the process of winding down. The furniture we had left in the warehouse is in the process of being donated to other charities, as is our workshop tools and equipment. We hope this will help support their own charitable activities and continue to help people in need.
If you’d like to join us on the 28th March (12.30 – 2.30pm) do pop in – it would be great to give this wonderful charity a formidable send off.
With love and gratitude,
The Furniture Station team x
