Charity Ball raises an incredible £2800 for families in crisis

After months of preparation and planning (and a little bit of panic!) we hosted our Winter Wonderland Charity ball – and have been deeply touched by the support and generosity shown by all those who came along, as well as all the people who donated prizes for the auction and prize draw.

With over 170 guests in attendance including our fabulous volunteers, the evening at Cheshire Conference Centre  got underway with dinner to the soft acoustic sounds of musician Sam Lyon, before Hannah Gorst took to the stage with a catalogue of Adele songs.

Big thanks….

FSB2017_LGB0507We have so many people to thank and huge love for everybody who helped us make the event such a great success. From our performers, Sam and Hannah, Erica our DJ who packed the dance floor with her choice of party tunes, to our photographers Leigh and Zainab and  Cheshire Conference Centre for hosting and looking after us so well.

We also want to give huge thanks to local businesses and individuals who donated prizes for the raffle and auction – including original paintings from artists at Vernon Mill,  beauty treatments, meals out, theatre shows, sporting events and signed football shirts from Manchester United, Manchester City and Stockport County. And of course, massive thanks to everybody who came along and supported us on the night, bought raffle tickets and FSB2017_LGB0500placed bids in the silent auction – without you, there would have been no ball and we are truly humbled that you came to support us.

Challenging times ahead…

As those of you who were there know, The Furniture Station is facing very challenging times and an uncertain future. But the charity ball showed us just how much love and support there is for this local charity, which has been at the heart of the Stockport community for 23 years.  It was absolutely heartwarming to see people pulling together to help their fellow neighbours – and your donations will go directly back into The Furniture Station and helping local families and individuals in crisis.

Once again, a huge thank you to all involved. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 😍🎄☃️🎉
