Every year the Marple Methodist Church chooses a charity to support and this year they chose The Furniture Station as their charity of the year.
So far they have raised a massive £2,343.58 pounds, everyone at the Marple Methodist Church has got involved, the children and young people planted bulbs and baked biscuits for sale, a quiz competition was created, they helped promote The Furniture Stations events and helped sell The Furniture Stations cards and calendars.
Marple Methodist Church have not just been raising money for The Furniture Station, they have also been spreading the message of what The Furniture Station does and encouraging the congregation, their families and friends to donate furniture and electrical goods to The Furniture Station.
In July, Mr Simon Horsfield, The Furniture Station’s Chairman attended a Holy Communion service led by the minister, Reverend Margaret Crawshaw, where he was presented with a cheque from Marple Methodist Church.
A big thank you to everyone at the Marple Methodist Church for all the efforts made to raise funds for The Furniture Station over the last 12 months.
